This model represents binding in the letterpress era before mechanization or time-saving abbreviations. The text block is sewn onto supports, the spine shaped, and the boards laced on. The book is covered in leather that has been pared to remain flexible while still protecting the text.

Sewn on raised supports, laced into boards of laminated paper, spine lined with printed waste. Endsheets by MarbleSmith Paper, hand-sewn silk endbands, edges sprinkled with acrylic. Covered in calf, blind tooling around bands and boards.

This model is accompanied by an illustrated booklet with bibliography outlining the evolution of key structural features.
