Bound in full goatskin in the Late Coptic style. Cold tooling, blind tooling, vellum lacing, gilded leather. Handmade brass peg closures, handsewn endbands. Boards are folios of laminated sheets of Papyrus, sewn along with the text block. Leather naturally distressed. The Late Coptic binding style is a historical antecedent of Gary Frost’s Sewn Boards binding, inspiration for the project “Friend-of-a-Friend Book” from the text. Bound 2013.
