The Bone Folder by Ernst Collin, translation from the German and introduction by Peter D. Verheyen, illustrated with photographic images by John (Hans) Schiff. Plains, Pennsylvania: Boss Dog Press, 2017

Bradel binding. Boards covered in decorative paper by the binder: Arches text with paste and acrylic over inkjet printing, illustrations by Henry Maron. Goatskin spine, three-color hand-sewn silk endbands, graphite head, hand-titling in two shades of gold leaf. Zerkall Ingres flexi endpapers. Bound 2018.

This fictional account of a dialogue between a bookbinder and a book collector describes many of the tools and processes that form the foundation of bookbinding. The decorative paper also references Einschlagpapier, East German wrapping paper, the subject of the previous Boss Dog Press publication.
