I wanted a modern, flexible, enthusiastic-opening update to the original limp vellum case. I chose green case paper to reference the Doves Bindery’s use of green sewing thread for their limp bindings. The gratuitous use of gold is a nod to the work of Cobden-Sanderson. The titling mirrors the shop’s distinctive signature THE • DOVES • BINDERY
