Wardrobe of Paper Cases: models
In this course students quickly construct a text block using a very speedy sewing technique. The remaining time is spent folding a variety of paper cases to dress this text block ”mannequin”. Suggestions are provided for sewing techniques and endsheet constructions appropriate for each case. All structures are low or no adhesive. All can be constructed in a sparsely-equipped home studio with minimal specialized equipment. This course is appropriate for intermediate binders, beginners who are ready for a fast-paced workout, and anyone who wants to add more paper cases to their repertoire. Structures include: Paper case with tuck-in endsheets, Paper case with locking spine, Dove Dale paper case, Tipped wrapper with flexi ends
Set of models includes two text blocks and four paper cases. These models were made as demos while teaching a bookbinding workshop. They may include marks or notes made to aid students. Colors and patterns will vary. Cutaway bindings revealing structural features are sometimes available.
